Event Review – STEM Women Australia-Wide Virtual Graduate Careers Event – 5th August 2025

On Tuesday 5th August 2025, we brought together talented STEM students and top employers across Australia. The Australia-Wide Virtual Graduate Careers Event saw inspiring afternoon of networking, discovering job opportunities and tuning in for live talks.

Running from 12pm–4pm AEST, the event attracted over 1,000 sign-ups from across Australia. Attendees were eager to explore career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Connecting Talent with Opportunity

We were delighted to welcome six leading employers who shared insights into their graduate programmes, workplace culture, and values:

Representatives from each company logged on to live chat with attendees with the option to progress to live chat or connect on LinkedIn to keep in touch for future opportunities.

Event Highlights

Welcome Talk from STEM Women – We kicked off the afternoon with a warm introduction from STEM Women’s Events & Marketing Director, Sophie Chadwick, setting the tone for a day of career exploration with her career advice and networking tips.

Employer Insight Talk from Thales Group – Sanjana Arora, Deputy Engineering Delivery Manager at Thales group shared a talk and presentation highlighting her career journey. Sanjana shared how she found success in a competitive job market, her career progression, and pivotal moments in her journey. The inside look into Sanjana’s story highlights the impact of Thales group and what they look for in emerging talent, inspiring many attendees to explore careers in defence and technology.

Following the talks, attendees had the chance to explore each employer’s interactive virtual booths. This allowed attendees to chat with staff in real time including recruiters and graduate employees, to ask questions and explore pathways into graduate and internship programmes.
