On Friday 15th November we hosted the STEM Women Virtual Graduate Careers Event via our new online platform. The event attracted 13 exhibiting employers and 330 attendees from across the UK!

The event began at 12.00pm with a welcome talk from STEM Women, followed by presentations from two employers. During the day, attendees could network with employers via the interactive careers fair, which included the option to browse company stalls, enter live chats , and apply for jobs.

The Speaker Sessions

The employer insight sessions took place in the theatre section of the platform.  Speakers gave personal insights into the challenges women face when entering a technical field, and highlighted the importance of speaking up in the workplace.

This was followed by an insightful panel discussion with the opportunity for attendees to ask questions and receive guidance on STEM careers and application tips, especially useful in the early stages of my career. The audience were so engaged, it was a challenge to get through all their questions!

Feedback from attendees

Attendees loved the interactive virtual platform which allowed them to connect with employers and listen to inspiring talks in a way that easily fits around lectures and study:

“Events like these remind me how powerful networking can be and how much support is out there for women in STEM.” – Neha, MSc Digital Health at Bournemouth University

“The event was a fantastic way to connect with top companies, explore graduate roles in STEM, and recognize the achievements of women in this field.” – Myriam, BSc Biomedical Science, Royal Holloway.
